Changes for the 2018 Season

2017 kicked ass, so there wasn't much that needed to be changed to make 2018 better, but we did change a few things.  Here are some of the key changes:

  1. No more late nights.  Tourneys start at 6:30 pm.  Goal is to not run so late, so we moved the start time up a bit and deleted one betting level because more chips will be in play because... (See #2, #3 and #4)
  2. Caught a cooler in the first hour?  Fire another bullet.  Re-buys now allowed if you bust in the first hour (can buy back in after all alternates seated).
  3. Have a rough first hour?  Power up with one of two add-ons.  If a 2,000 chip bump isn't enough, you can now buy 5,000 chips for $20 instead.
  4. Unlimited alternates allowed.  Fixed flaw in scoring system, so now we can let in as many alternates as we want.
  5. Top 3/4 of players now get points.  This is a change from previous seasons where only the top 2/3 gets points.
  6. Don't want to play it out?  Chop it up!  Chops now allowed for all players in the money.
  7. Pay That Man His Money!  Player of the Year will now receive a nice cash prize!  20% of all add-ons will go to the Player of the Year.
  8. Player Conduct / Etiquette section added.  This is the "Don't be a dick" section of the rules.  Read it, learn it, live it.
  9. Clarified and expanded No Show rule.  Consequences for consecutive no-shows, no show prior to Championship tournament now spelled out explicitly.
  10. Official schedule for 2018 is HERE.

Other minor rule changes have been made for the 2018 season as well.  Make sure you read the OFFICIAL RULES before you RSVP!
