Changes for the 2017 Season
Key changes from the 2016 season that will make 2017 better than ever!
- Remove $5 chips. I realized nobody in the universe uses $5 chips for tournaments, and now neither do we.
- Increase starting stack to 13,000 chips. Since we removed the $5 chips, the stacks needed to adjust accordingly. Plus, having more just feels better!
- Betting schedule adjusted accordingly, start at 25/50. Care was taken to ensure the blinds escalate at the same pace as previous betting schedules, so it will still feel like a deep stack just like always.
- Implement optional $10 add-on at first break. This will help to increase prize pool and give us all a little boost if we've had a rough first hour. Still no re-buys, though.
- Remove early bird bonus chip. Opted for add-on instead.
- Wanna chop? Cool. Chops now allowed for final two in a tournament.
- Mega Tournament is now a Satellite to AZ State Championship at Talking Stick Resort! $110 buy-in, 5-table tournament where 1 seat will be given away for every 10 players that enter. Up to 5 seats will be given away!
- Governing rules changed to Poker TDA Rules, 2015 version. Robert's Rules were outdated, and if the TDA rules are good enough for WSOP, they're good enough for Big Slick! Read 'em HERE.
- Implement 'No Show' rule. Nobody likes a no-show. No showing will automatically put you on the wait list the next time you RSVP (and will make me not happy), so DON'T DO IT!!
